Green Economics Institute is working with International Institute of Peace Studies and global philosophy

We are creating an alternative, but much longer term and less intrusive, companion vistors centre at Stonehenge for users of Stonehenge and for our retreats, learning and studying and for the druids, for astronomy and for astrological observation. Although it will provide a symbolic place for spiritual pilgrimage and investigation into the past- and the likely future, its primary aim will be to bring peace. This symbol of peace is run by the team who have already been sucessfully working for truth and reconciliation in various places around the world. It will ensure the future of stonehenge- with a time horizon of up to the next 5,000 years. It will aim to ensure it is beneficial to all people everywhere, other species, nature, the planet and its systems. It will help reclaiming economics, history and philosophy for the people, by the people and personal narrative, away from positivist, impersonal thinking.

We are part of a small group of people doing eco planning for the site in a long term and holistic way.The Green Economics Institute will provide the archaeological and historical long term perspective and the expertise on long term use and human and non human survivability in the landscape. This project is symbolic of our attitude to planning and how it should create a bright future for everyone and everything rather than exhausting and squandering resources in one generation.
