Green Economics is the economics of choice for a New Age says Miriam Kennet Green Economics Institute Founder and Director.
When we have the sweep of change in the White House, and the markets have reacted to the collision between the economy and ecology, Green Economics which can take into account, climate change,market volatility, commodity price fluctuation, and the 6th ever mass extinction on earth in 4 billion years and actually offers solutions and change.
As Obama said in his acceptance speech - black, white, indigenous americans, young old, gay straight, dissabled and not dissabled, ----Green Economics is specifically about all people everywhere- women, minorities, and includes Americans but is active in many countries and caters for all people and all life on earth.
The time has finally come for an inclusive economics- an economics which cares, and economics about giving and sharing- not about taking. An economics for communities, and society, not about individual preferences of homo economicus -( priviledged white man).
This is the dawning of a new age of caring and trusting, ensure you get a part of this new movement- and ensure you understand it, ensure you get the benefit- its as BNI says -this period in economics is characterised by the phrase,"Givers gain," what you sow - so shall you reap.Sharing and giving come first, then the rewards.
Green Economics is about Responsibility and understanding our own impacts and effects on others and the world, and ensuring our legacy is not about trash and squander but about growth in nature and growth in the real world. Green Economics is realworld economics- its human and narrative, and redefines the purpose of economics.We each need to take the trouble to understand our own impacts, and not leave it to others to do or to choose our actions.
Green Economics is about provisioning for the needs of everyone on the planet, its about other species- we are not alone- and its about ensuring we keep our bees, and our bonobos-( our closest relative) as symbols of our own survival- both of which are in trouble, and its about the planet and its systems our physical home- our nest. There is no economics outside the earth, we need it and we need to share it, and to look after it.
Caring for each others needs, and those of other species and the planet is the way forward- that is economic progress today and for the 21st century. Participate in the wave of Green Economics, a progressive economics.
